Area Attractions: En
Route to
Harbourtowne Golf
and Conference
Center, you’ll drive
through historic St.
Michaels. Before
returning home,
learn how this town
‘Fooled the British’
during colonial
times. Exploring the
local bistros,
galleries, and
antique shops are
all part of your
Harbourtowne
experience. It’s not
to be missed.
St. Michaels,
founded in 1677 by
English settlers, is
located a quick bike
ride or an
effortless car ride
from Harbourtowne. A
shipbuilding center
and trading port
from colonial times
to the early 1800’s,
St. Michaels today
retains the quiet
charm and
hospitality of an
earlier age.
Take time to stroll
the brick-lined
walkways and soak in
the historic flavor
of the colonial
homes, stone
churches, decorated
storefronts, and the
Chesapeake Bay
Maritime Museum. The
museum is a 16-acre
complex of indoor
and outdoor
exhibits, tracing
the history and
traditions of the
Chesapeake Bay. The
museum offers an
array of events
throughout the year
including Big Band
concerts under the
stars as well as a
variety of
festivals.
Enjoy a ride on the
Oxford-Bellevue
Ferry, “America’s
Oldest Ferry,” a
tour in a
horse-drawn carriage
or a cruise in a
working,
sail-powered
skipjack. Many
entertainment
options abound in
the area, adding to
your experience.

on events, shops and
restaurants in St.
Michaels, please
