The Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute
The Maryland Technology Enterprise Institute (MTECH), a unit of the A. James Clark School of Engineering at the University of Maryland, accelerates technology entrepreneurship and leverages university resources to benefit Maryland companies through its two units: MTECH Ventures and MTECH Partnerships.

Maryland Intellectual Property Legal Resource Center

Recognizing the critical importance of intellectual property assets to high technology companies, the MIPLRC has been created to educate entrepreneurs, law and business students, and the community about the legal aspects of IP. The MIPLRC can educate entrepreneurs about, and connect them with, legal service providers. As part of its mission, the MIPLRC also provides legal services, primarily through a law school student-staffed legal clinic, under the supervision of a licensed patent attorney and affiliated faculty and area specialists.

Emerging Technology Centers
The ETC, a venture of Baltimore Development Corporation, is a nonprofit business incubator program with two separate incubator facilities, focused on growing early-stage technology and biotechnology companies in Baltimore City.

The ETC’s mission is to help early-stage companies grow and prosper.

Md. Companies to Partner with University Researchers on 28 Tech Products

College Park, Md. -- The University of Maryland's Maryland Industrial Partnerships Program (MIPS) on Monday announced 28 new research projects that will match state companies with university researchers to develop high-tech commercial products. The projects will receive a total of $5.2 million in funding -- $1.9 million in cash from MIPS and $3.3 million in cash and in-kind resources from participating companies -- allowing participating faculty members to work closely with partner companies to advance their product development. Participating schools will include the University of Maryland, Baltimore; the University of Maryland Biotechnology Institute; Salisbury University; and the University of Maryland, College Park. The majority of the projects (16) focus on biotechnology. The complete list of all 28 projects is available at the link above.

Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport (MARS), (Wallops Island, VA)
The Mid-Atlantic Regional Spaceport, in partnership with NASA, offers "one stop shopping" for low cost, safe, reliable, user-friendly space launch facilities and services for commercial, government and scientific/academic users, both foreign and domestic.

MARS' mission is to develop and operate a multi-user spaceport at the NASA Wallops Flight Facility which provides low cost, safe, reliable, "schedule-friendly" space access to commercial, government, and academic users.
