The U.S. Department of
Agriculture’s Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is
one of the world’s premiere scientific research
organizations. GROWING GREEN: The Second Green
Revolution will solidify ARS’ role in addressing
global issues concerning biofuel, bioproducts, and
sustainability. GROWING GREEN is unlike any other
technology showcase, as it will feature technologies
and projects by teams of ARS researchers brought
together to provide solutions to important
environmental and energy issues, morning panel
discussions, and lots more!

Severinsky, an area technologist and
entrepreneur, developed the hybrid power system
used in the Toyota Prius and other hybrid
vehicles.
The symposium will explore the state of
intellectual property rights and protections in
the U.S. and internationally. Using case
examples--including the hybrid power system used
in the Toyota Prius and other vehicles and the
Blackberry wireless handheld device--the
speakers will address the strengths and
weaknesses of patents, strategies for
entrepreneurs, resources available, and possible
future trends. Speakers include federal
intellectual property experts and attorneys.
