Lorraine Flanders
Lorraine Flanders, FLC MAR Deputy Regional
Coordinator, is a 1984 graduate of the State
University of New York at Buffalo with a degree in
Electrical Engineering. She started her career at
General Electric, Electronic Systems Department as a
test equipment design engineer, working primarily in
infrared systems. After several years she began her
Government career at Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL)
in Rome, NY as a program manager in optical
systems. While at AFRL Mrs. Flanders became a
technical agent in wide area surveillance
technologies for the Counterdrug Technology
Development Program Office (CNTDPO). She then
joined the Navy team of the CNTDPO at Naval Surface
Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD) as the
deputy program manager of National Wide Area
Surveillance Programs. After a brief stint in naval
shipboard radar systems she became the manager of
the NSWCDD Office of Research and Technology
Applications where she has served for the last 4
years. She has also recently been named Chair of
the Awards committee for the Federal Laboratory
Consortium. Mrs. Flanders lives in Fredericksburg,
VAA with her husband and three of her four children.
